Last saturday we celebrated our beloved Yana’s 2nd birthday. And I must say it was a blast.

First of all, all her grand parents were present, imagine that. Most pinoy kids could only dream of having one but instead she had three hehehe.

Then, my relatives from my dad’s side of the family came. Before my dad arrived, I never knew that I had so many relatives in the Houston area. I guess we truly are a global clan, yup not a family anymore but a clan, because we are big as in TEXAS BIG!

Too bad some of our relatives from Cali couldn’t make it specially Uncle Paul, Uncle Abe and Uncle Serg. Remembering that accident made us feel real sad. But I guess auntie Bekang wouldn’t want us to dwell too much on that, it was our daughter’s party after all.

Anyhow, our kumares and kumpares from Miami came over. We were so touched that they traveled all the way from the country of South Florida just to be with our little yanapot.

We were also so happy that finally we were able to put all our new found friends under one roof. Me and Maan love gatherings. Not the sosyalan plastican types where everyone try to be pretentious but gatherings where everyone knows everyone. And that everyone is having a good time. If someone don’t know somebody we make the effort to introduce them. We are social networkers by heart hehehe.

On normal gatherings the boze is on top of the list but since we didn’t know what makes our new found friends tick we tried our best to cater to everyone. So, we bought a magic mic, a pair of dance pads and an extra wii remote. Of the three it was the magic mic that had the staying power, I guess Filipinos truly love to sing.

Speaking of boze, well you might think we are alcoholics but were not. We just believe that in order to enjoy one must be free of shyness and inhibitions like I said we hate plastic people. Just a cup or a glass of beer, tequilla or baileys would loosen pretty much anyone. Anyhow, I guess in Houston it’s different. I mean most of our guests lived very close by but choose not to drink at all, siguro di pa kami ganun ka-close sa kanila (sob sob hahahaha). We’ll try to bad-influence them some other time at least they sang or sang-along.

I’ve uploaded the pics check them out.

Apologies though, in my haste to snap some decent shots I completely forgot that my lense was set on manual focus. I never bothered to thoroughly check the images I took. Madilim pa naman sa loob kaya hayun medyo malabo. Pano kasi, I was too busy annoying our friends hahaha.

Hanggang sa muli,

Marius
